I love being a copy editor. I confess: I'm one of those annoying individuals who goes around correcting other people's grammar. Not to mention ... if I see a typo or spelling mistake in the newspaper, I break out in hives and reach for my red pen.
Yes, I'm a proud, card-carrying member of the Grammar Police. This membership serves me well when it comes to being a copy editor. My "eagle's eyes" are adept at detecting anything from an improper use of "your" vs. "you're" ... to a missed period at the end of a sentence.
